Cookie and Privacy policy

We use cookies to give you the best possible experience on our website. Cookies allow your machine to remember your username when revisiting our website, your own cookie policy you have set on your browser will control how this works. All browsers should allow you to delete cookies if you wish to do so.

This policy page is always linked from the footer on every page of our website.

When you first enter the website, or return after deleting your cookies, there is a banner at the top of the screen which indicates that the website uses cookies, and asks for consent to continue.

There is no advertising on the website. We do not use or pass any information to any third party excepting for serious breach or major violation of our community rules and regulations.

Community privacy

On the community registration form we do ask a few basic questions which are really designed to filter out Trolls or other undesirables which are known to join forum communities and just cause lots of problems. We do ask for a name, email and general location in UK and Ireland, this data is securely held in the website database and is only used by us when creating the user account, we do not sell or pass any of this information to any third parties. When entering the community forum none of the data provided from the registration form is viewable on anyone’s profile, except their chosen user name and joining date, plus a date when the user last logged into the system.
Each member has the option of adding data that can be seen by other community forum users; such as gender, birthday and location that has been edited and supplied by the user. When you look at your own profile there is an edit function where this sort of data can be entered if you wish.
It is not mandatory to enter anything. If nothing is entered it will just show the user name.
Regarding email addresses being displayed, again if you don’t enter one in the edit profile, then nothing will be displayed. You can send a private message (pm) to any member, they will then receive an email advising that they have received a private message.
The web crawlers which work their way round the www do not have access to the community forum, and the community forum requires a username and password to access, so Google and the other search engines can’t go there. Please take heart that anything you write will only be viewable by other members of the community.
